Ben is a professional make-believer in film and theatre. Originally from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, he now lives and works in Brooklyn.
As a screenwriter, he won the 2020 Austin Film Festival for co-writing the Civil War pilot RICHMOND UNDERGROUND, about a spy ring of women and slaves who infiltrated the Confederate White House. His pilot LEGACY won the LaunchPad Competition and his dramatic feature ROW YOUR BOAT reached the Top 50 of the Nicholl Fellowships from 7,300+ submissions.
As a film director, he helmed the DACA documentary TWO RIVERS and narrative social justice short WAY UP, in addition to adapting and directing his debut one-act play ATTILA as a short film after directing the stage premiere in the Samuel French OOB Short Play Festival at Playwrights Horizons.
He is currently directing a feature he wrote and recently staged a virtual reading of his debut full-length play WRETCHED OF THE EARTH starring Nik Walker, Greg Keller, Justin Cunningham, and more.
