I fell in love with classic films, making backyard movies as a kid, and directed my first feature junior year of high school. It was super angsty and the lead role was named for Kiefer Sutherland.
I was honored to win the 2020 Austin FF Screenwriting Competition, reach the Top 50 of the 2019 Nicholl Fellowships, and win the LaunchPad and SIP Competitions as well.
I have two distributed features and five festival shorts that screened across the country, garnering numerous awards.
My mandate is: bold stories that matter and thrill. I also think kids should never stop playing pretend.
It always begins with the story.
Something I have to tell.
As a screenwriter and playwright,
I draw from a lot of research informed by life experience.
As a director, it's about the team.
People I trust, admire, and respect.
People I can hold up and who hold me up.
I won the 2020 Austin FF Screenwriting Competition from 13,000+ submissions and reached the Top 50 of the 2019 Nicholl Fellowships from 7,300+ submissions with my brother. I previously won the Launchpad Pilot and SIP Screenwriting Competitions, and placed twice as an Austin Second Rounder and in the Final Draft Big Break Contest.
My life changed when I co-directed the adaptation of my Civil War one-act play ATTILA, which premiered at Playwrights Horizons in NYC. I just directed the short WAY UP, about a community organizer and his son finding a hopeful response to gun violence in North Philly, and the short doc TWO RIVERS about DACA boxer Alejandro Jimenez battling for the ideals of America.
I owe so much to invaluable mentors in the DGA and stunt community who put me to work every summer during college, teaching me craft and blowing up cars. I worked extensively as a 1st AD and loved being on: Alicia Keys's RAISE A MAN, THE SUBJECT starring Jason Biggs and Aunjanue Ellis, THE VOLUNTEERS with Michael Raymond James and Toby Leonard Moore, in addition to so many more.
DREAMER Alejandro Jimenez was smuggled into America as a boy and, thanks to DACA, is now New Hope, Pennsylvania's first professional boxer. In the days leading up to his toughest fight, with lawmakers threatening to repeal DACA, he battles for the ideals of a nation.
A North Philly community organizer and his son search for a hopeful way to confront gun violence as a single day unfolds in parallel stories before an act of violence brings them crashing together.
America is at war in 1864 as Union Major General William T. Sherman plans his brutal March to the Sea through his beloved South and is confronted by the moral convictions of an escaped slave.
